The shrine of Imam Hussein in Iraq project

حرم امام حسین عراق

The new enclosure of Imam Hussein's shrine, which incorporates around 118 kilograms of gold along with silver and teak wood, was constructed in Qom, Iran. After passing through various cities en route, it was transported to Iraq via the Mehran border and installed in the shrine, where it was unveiled on March 5, 2013 (22 Rabi' al-Thani). The design of this enclosure is geometrically similar to the old one but slightly taller, covering an area of approximately 34 square meters with 20 windows. The construction of this hexagonal Hussaini enclosure used 118 kilograms of gold, 4 tons of silver, 2 tons of copper, 1300 kilograms of brass, and 5 tons of teak wood from Burma. The total weight of the enclosure is 12 tons.
